Homestead Tax Credit

Homeowners in Arkansas may receive a homestead property tax credit of up to $375 per year. Beginning with the 2024 tax bills the general assembly has authorized an increase up to $425. The credit is applicable to the “homestead”, which is defined as the dwelling of a person used as their principal place of residence. The homestead property may be owned by a revocable or irrevocable trust. Homeowners must apply for the credit with the county assessor’s office.

Age 65 or Disabled Homeowner Property Tax Relief

A Homeowner 65 or older or disabled will qualify to have their property value frozen. This means that the property value on your home will not increase unless there is a millage increase of an addition to the home.
