Alaska Program Eligibility

Property Tax-Aide features the Alaska Senior Citizen Exemption.

A qualified homeowner aged 65 or older does not need to file an application for successive tax years if there is no change in ownership, in residency or permanent place of abode, or other factors affecting qualification for the exemption. This means you only need to apply once.

The information on this page is updated as new information becomes available by the relevant tax agencies.

Senior Citizen Exemption

This is an exemption of up to $150,000 of the assessed value of an owner-occupied home.

Application Deadline

This exemption must be applied for by a deadline enacted at the local level, typically in March. Please consult your municipality for the exact deadline.

Application deadlines for select municipalities:

Anchorage: March 15, 2024

Haines Borough: March 31, 2024

Juneau: March 31, 2024
